An Introduction of Maki Zenin
Maki Zenin is one of the main supporting characters in the 2018 supernatural action and the manga series Jujutsu kaisen and its year 2020 anime television series adaptation of the similar name. Maki’s also appears as the tritagonist of the 2017 prequel manga limited period series, named as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 that is originally titled as the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School and its year 2021 anime film adaptation of the similar name. Maki Zenin was basically a child of the Zenin Clan, that is one of the three great clans in the Jujutsu Sorcery world. Due to being born with almost no cursed ability and energy, Maki was considered as a failure and was also shunned by her controlling family. Suddenly, in an effort to break away from her family and to prove them wrong, Maki decided to become a Jujutsu Sorcerer by fighting with the cursed equipment and tools.
Maki Zenin was voiced by the Mikako Komatsu in Japanese version of the anime series and by Allegra Clark in English in the English version of the anime series. Clark has also voiced the U-1196 in the Cells at Work! CODE BLACK and Dorothea Arnault in the Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
Maki Zenin: Appearance
Maki Zenin was a very beautiful and cute Japanese teenage girl with a slender build body and has a black eye, which were shown to be hazel in the anime adaptation of it, she stood a height of 5’7″ tall. Her hair is long and black in colour (which was shown to be seaweed-green in the anime adaptation) and she usually tied into a ponytail. She almost always wore a special glass that enable her to perceive the cursed power and the spirits despite her lack of the cursed energy. After she encounters with the Cursed Spirit, who named as Jogo, Zenin’s body was afflicted with permanent scars of burn which covered the parts of her arms and the face. She also cut her hair in short to the point that it barely reached to the past her ears. During her conflict with the family, she was blinded in her left eye when it was vertically sliced by her own father.
Abilities
Maki’s grade IS 4th ranking is not at all reflective of her actual skill and powers level. She was born as a non-sorcerer, but she has always had an extremely tremendous physical abilities, that is gifted through heavenly restriction in exchange for her severely low cursed powers. By mastering the use of weapons and equipment and studying curses at the Jujutsu High, she has become a great jujutsu sorcerer, nonetheless.
Satoru Gojo and Mei Mei both had been casually agreed that as a second-year students, there was no good reason that Maki wasn’t ranked at least grade 2. Maki’s tension with the Zenin clan had caused them to stall their promotion even though Maki can exorcise the grade 2 cursed spirit energy with ease.
Maki’s close peers all identified how powerful and energetic she is, Yuji Itadori could tell just by looking that Maki has a great aura of strength and will. Even so, most of the times she is still underestimated by her opponents. She wields the quality of the cursed tools with the proficiency and her heavenly restricted physical prowess is second only to Yuji’s superhuman abilities and the powers.
